In this article, I share 10 items you can buy to create the ultimate relaxing work from home setup.
One of my favorite aspects of the new remote office culture is the ability to multitask. No longer are the days where you forget to do a load of laundry, don’t have enough time to call the bank, or don’t have time to braise the short rib for dinner. The beauty of remote work is all of your life chores can now be done while you work, all from the comfort of your couch. But why stop at household chores? What if you could take it one step further and make your work environment so special that it actually brings you joy like going to the spa? We are sharing some of our favorite products that you can use to create the ultimate relaxing work from home setup for your casual Fridays or rough Monday mornings. Just make sure to double check that the Zoom camera is turned OFF!
10 Items to Create the Ultimate Relaxing Work From Home Setup
1. Harney and Sons: English Breakfast Tea
This loose leaf tea is honestly unmatched. With the perfect amount of heartiness and delicate floral notes, this 100% Keemun tea is a game changer if you need to be alert but don’t want the aggression of coffee. Personally, I like to pour this tea into ceramic tea cups I found at my local TJMaxx to really transport me to a cute cafe in London.
2. Apotheke: Charcoal Classic Candle
This candle smells like it should be $100. True candle lovers will know what I mean. I love it because it’s reasonably priced, burns evenly (doesn’t hole), and has the most luscious relaxing scent I’ve ever smelled. Plus, the monochromatic charcoal packaging pairs well with any interior.
3. OGX Argan Oil Dry Oil Spray
One of my favorite things to do before I start work on a Friday is take a nice, relaxing shower. After I get out, I like to spray this dry oil all over my hair. Not only does it smell amazing, but it’s also the perfect texture. Because it is “dry” spray, it doesn’t leave your hair feeling oily and sticky. Spray this on, jump on a few zoom calls, and by the time your hair air dries, it will be so silky smooth.
4. Act+Acre Microfiber Hair Turban
Speaking of air drying hair – for those girls that hate the feeling of wet hair on your back while you work, I highly recommend getting a hair turban. The microfiber material is designed to soak up sopping wet hair quickly, and the button at the base makes sure everything stays in place. I usually roll up my hair in this if I know that I’m going to be entering back to back meetings.
5. Lunya Washable Relaxing Work from Home Silk Robe
Yes, this robe is a bit pricey, but it’s worth it. I believe in investing in important pieces, and to me, the clothes that you wear during a long work day are really important. This robe is the literal best. It not only comes in tons of different fun colors, but it’s washable! Goodbye having to send out your silk to the dry cleaners. Hello relaxing work from home environment.
6. Fresh Umbrian Clay Face Mask
Another thing I love to do during a casual work day is a good old fashioned face mask. There are obviously a lot on the market to choose from, but my tried and true forever favorite has to be the Umbrian Clay Mask by Fresh. Not only does this mask deep cleanse your face, but it also minimizes pores and shine without drying out your skin. It also has this luscious smooth clay consistency that just rolls on your face like butter. Mmm, chef’s kiss!
7. Dr. Loretta Intense Replenishing Serum
I’ve been using Dr. Loretta products for years, and they are just starting to get mainstream. This brand knows what’s up. I’ve always hated the feeling of sticky and thick moisturizer on my face all day, so I always opt for this serum that leaves your skin feeling super soft and moisturized, but without the after-application filmyness that you usually get from standard moisturizers. I love to apply this after the above Umbrian clay mask.
8. Laneige Lip Mask
It’s not a spa day if you don’t get a lip mask! And I know this packaging says ‘sleep mask’ but I honestly use it during the day too. I like to apply it after my morning shower and let it sit on my lips all day during meetings. Plus, it’s the perfect pre-step to doing a full face of makeup for Friday night dinner & drinks.
9. Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm
This hand lotion smells so good. The scent alone puts me in a good mood lol. I like to squeeze a pea sized amount of product into the palm of my hand and add a drop of water to make it a lighter consistency. This stuff will also last you for years. I am on the same tube I bought almost 2 years ago and it’s still one of my all time favorites.
10. Evian Facial Spray
Yes, like the water bottle (or the main antagonist in the 1999 film “Superstar”). This has become a very popular goodie item at bachelorette parties, and for a good reason. It’s the perfect midday pick me up spray. I love to use this spray after exiting a string of back to back meetings. Instead of grabbing a cup of coffee, I do a little spritz spritz and I’m set for my next block of calls. It’s the perfect way to create that relaxing work from home environment.
